2020 Aston Martin DBX Renders Are The Next Best Thing To Official Photos

The most recent spy shots of Aston Martin’s DBX gave us the best look at the brand’s first-ever SUV and automotive illustrators excellent material to digitally remove the camouflage.

The folks from Russian website Kolesa have released two renderings of the 2020 Aston Martin DBX that they believe are very close to what the finished item will look like. We believe that too as the CGIs could easily be mistaken for a pair of official photos if it weren’t for the watermarks.

Viewed from the front, the DBX looks unmistakably like an Aston Martin thanks to the signature grille, the headlights which have a similar shape to the DBS and Vantage, and sculpted bonnet that suggests power. A lot of it.

The profile reveals more similarities with other Aston Martin models, including the long wheelbase and relatively short front overhang, pop-out door handles, and a coupe-like glasshouse that follows the dramatic drop of the roofline.

The rear end will likely be the most controversial part of the vehicle and that’s because of the pronounced crease that connects the taillights, adding a lot of visual tension between the sloping rear screen and the rest of the tailgate which is vertical. The carved roof spoiler looks purposeful and hints at some serious performance.

The taillamps are clearly inspired by the Vantage sports car and are connected to one another via a strip embedded in the tailgate edge. The rear bumper adds plenty of visual drama as well thanks to the aggressive treatment featuring two big round exhaust pipes and a chunky diffuser.

The Aston Martin DBX is likely to debut with an AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine making 503 hp (510 PS) in its basic iteration; more powerful versions are expected later on. The super luxury SUV could also receive the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 from the DB11 as well as a hybrid version. Aston Martin will officially unveil the DBX in December.
