The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe is finally here allowing us to focus our attention on upcoming variants of America’s mid-engine sports car.
The first to arrive will be the 2020 Corvette Convertible and Chevrolet offered the first look at it a few hours ago, during the live presentation of the 2020 Corvette Stingray coupe.
Towards the end of the video that you can watch below, just after the 58-minute mark, Chevrolet teased the Corvette Convertible in a quick succession of photos. We’ve managed to take a few screenshots so we’re able to show you what the drop-top version will look like.
Right off the bat, there are some clear differences compared to the coupe model with a targa top. The main modification regards the rear engine cover which has been replaced by a new one featuring two aero cowls, one behind each seat.
Between them there’s a retractable rear window and further back we can also spot a vent grille necessary for the engine cooling. Interestingly, there’s no fixed rear wing as on the coupe but there are some cutouts that could indicate the presence of a retractable spoiler.
