Following a preview earlier this month, the facelifted 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport body-on-frame SUV was unveiled today in Thailand, the country where it is also built.
The main design change takes place at the front where the Pajero Sport (sold as the Shogun Sport in the UK and Montero Sport in other markets) adopts Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield identity. The new headlights and grille look very similar to the Triton/L200 pickup on which the Pajero Sport is based, with only the bumper looking slightly less rugged than the truck’s.
Another minor difference regards the combination lights placed under the headlights. Less visible to the naked eye is the 2020 Pajero Sport’s higher bonnet which contributes to a more imposing appearance. The rest of the bodywork does not seem to feature significant changes bar some subtle updates to the rear bumper, new wheels, and a sporty roof spoiler.
Another area where Mitsubishi operated changes is the interior which is said to offer more quality and comfort courtesy of updates such as a refreshed center console, soft padded door handles, new AC power outlet added on the rear passenger console, and a storage space located under the center armrest.
