2020 Subaru Legacy And Outback Get Minor Price Hike Ahead Of Their Launch This Fall

Subaru has announced pricing for the redesigned 2020 Legacy and Outback.

Starting with the sedan, the Legacy starts at $22,745 which is a $200 increase over last year’s model. Despite the modest price change, the car now comes equipped with a Starlink infotainment system that features two 7.0-inch displays. The upper unit is largely focused on audio controls, while the lower screen provides access to the climate control system and various vehicle settings.

Under the hood, there’s a revised 2.5-liter Boxer engine that produces 182 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 176 lb-ft (238 Nm) of torque – a modest increase of 7 hp (5 kW / 7 PS) and 2 lb-ft (3 Nm). The upgraded engine is connected to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission that features a new eight-speed manual shift mode and steering wheel paddle shifters.

Moving up the ladder, the Legacy Premium, Sport and Limited all have a new 11.6-inch Starlink Multimedia Plus system. The Limited also boasts new side mirrors with two-position memory and an auto-tilting function on the passenger side.

More importantly, there’s new XT variants which have a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine that produces 260 hp (194 kW / 264 PS) and 277 lb-ft (376 Nm) of torque.

Besides the aforementioned changes, all Legacy models have an improved EyeSight driver assistance system that now features adaptive cruise control with a lane centering function.

The 2020 Outback is largely identical to the Legacy, but it costs $300 more than its predecessor as it now starts at $26,645.

Other highlights include water-repellant StarTex seats, a full-size spare tire, a hand-free power tailgate and an exclusive Dual-Mode X-Mode system.

The 2020 Subaru Legacy and Outback will arrive at dealerships this fall.

Note: Prices exclude a destination and delivery of between $900 and $1,160.
