2020 Yenko/SC Camaro Combines 1,000 HP With A Six-Speed Manual

The Chevrolet Camaro might be living on borrowed time, but that hasn’t stopped Specialty Vehicle Engineering from unveiling the 2020 Yenko/SC Stage II Camaro.

Based on either the Camaro 1SS or 2SS with the 1LE option, the car features a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that has been bored out to displace 6.8-liters. The company didn’t stop there as they also installed a forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons and CNC ported high-flow cylinder heads. Other upgrades include a larger throttle body, an upgraded fuel / injector system, a custom engine tune and a high-performance supercharger.

Thanks to all these modifications, the engine produces 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS) and 875 lb-ft (1,186 Nm) of torque. The company didn’t say how fast the car is, but the engine is connected to a six-speed manual transmission.

Since the model is based on the Camaro SS 1LE, it comes equipped with Magnetic Ride Control and an electronic limited-slip rear differential. There’s also a “performance-tuned” suspension and a heavy-duty cooling system which includes an engine oil cooler, dual outboard radiators, a transmission cooler and a rear differential cooler.

Besides the performance upgrades, the car has Yenko-branded brake calipers and 20-inch alloy wheels which are wrapped in Michelin PS4S performance tires. There’s also a painted carbon fiber hood with an exposed scoop.

Interior changes are minor, but drivers will find an individually numbed badge and embroidered floor mats. Other highlights include embroidered front headrests, “Yenko/SC” door sill plates and special key fobs.

Production will be limited to 50 units and Road & Track says the car has a base price of $69,000.
