Aston Martin Vantage Gets Up To 691 HP Thanks To McChip-DKR

German tuning company McChip-DKR has unveiled a number of different packages for the Aston Martin Vantage.

When the Vantage leaves the British car company’s factory, its AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out 503 hp and 505 lb-ft (685 Nm) of torque. Those figures aren’t to be sneezed at, but McChip-DKR believes it can do better.

The company’s Stage 1 package boosts output to 581 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) via some rather simple chip tuning. Stage 2 adds new downpipes and sport catalytic converters to up power even more, to 601 hp and 582 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque.

A Stage 3 package is also available and is more comprehensive, as it includes a reflash for the ECU and new compressor wheels as well as modified inlets and outlets for the turbochargers and a ew exhaust system with sport catalytic converters.

These mods result in a total of 691 hp and 623 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque, giving the Vantage enough grunt to probably keep pace with the DBS Superleggera, but for significantly less money.

Pricing for McChip’s Stage 3 kit starts at €14,669 ($16,515) though it, as well as the Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits, all void the car’s factory warranty. If you like the piece of mind this entails, then you might want to wait until it expires. Otherwise, you pays your money…
