Bollinger To Show Production-Spec Electric SUV And Pickup Next Month

Bollinger Motors will unveil its production-ready B1 sport-utility and B2 pickup truck on September 26 at a special event near Detroit.

It has been a couple of years since Bollinger first showed up by unveiling the B1, and this new teaser video shows the final touches being put on the the B1 and B2 prototypes. It doesn’t appear as though the vehicles have undergone any changes since first being revealed.

Both will feature near-identical electric powertrains with a 120 kWh battery, pack around 614 HP and boast an estimated EPA range of 200 miles (320 km). The company claims the two models will accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in approximately 4.5 seconds and reach an identical top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). Moreover, while they appear to share many exterior parts, the B1 SUV’s wheelbase is actually 20 inches shorter than the B2’s.

In the two years since the B1 was first unveiled, followed by the B2 last year, the market for electric SUVs and pickup trucks has heated up. Companies such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz have launched their electric SUVs and companies like Rivian and Tesla are developing electric pickup trucks of their own. However, both the B1 and B2 are far more utilitarian than other EVs on the market.

Speaking with Car and Driver, Bollinger chief executive Robert Bollinger says the company has already secured 32,000 reservations for the its two upcoming models, so things do look promising.
