Drako GTE Electric Supercar Coming This Summer With 1200 HP

Electric vehicle startup Drako Motors has announced plans to introduce their first vehicle at the Quail Motorsports Gathering on August 16th.

Dubbed the GTE, the model is billed as a “limited production fully electric supercar” that delivers “exhilarating performance with maximum control and safety.”

Little is known about the car, but the electric vehicle will have four motors that produce a combined output of 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS) and 6,491 lb-ft (8,800 Nm) of torque. This will reportedly enable the GTE to hit a top speed of 206 mph (332 km/h).

There’s no word on range or the size of the battery pack, but Drako says the car will have “cornering precision like no other supercar on the road today.” They also claimed the GTE’s “immense power is controlled with technology evolved from earning a Nürburgring lap record in 2015 during early stage development.”

The four seater was designed by Lowie Vermeersch and his GranStudio team in Turin, Italy. He’s worked on a number of models including the Ferrari California, FF and 458. He also played a role in creating the stunning Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta concept and the Dallara Stradale.

The teaser clip for the Drako GTE doesn’t reveal much, but it shows the model will have slender headlights and a curvaceous hood. We can also see what appears to be a fully enclose grille and vertical air intakes near the outside edges.

While Drako Motors is relatively unknown, the Silicon Valley-based company says they’ve spent nearly a decade doing design, engineering and track development behind closed doors.
