Enjoy The BMW M3 CS And Audi RS4 Racing In This 360-Degree Clip

The Audi RS4 and BMW M3 CS are both exceptionally fast, but as this 360-degree video shows, each has its own strengths when it comes to straight-line performance.

We first covered Carwow’s head-to-head test of the RS4 and M3 CS in August last year, and the results make it quite difficult to pick a favorite between the two.

The first duel was a drag race from a standing start. On paper, the BMW seems to have the edge, as the German brand claims its 454 hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six can propel the sports saloon to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds. By comparison, Audi quotes a 0-62 mph time of 4.1 seconds for the RS4 which uses a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 444 hp and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque.

However, it was the Audi that sprinted off the line quicker in this race thanks to its all-wheel drive, while the rear-wheel drive Bimmer struggled to put its power to the tarmac.

To try and eliminate any grip advantage the RS4 has over the M3 CS, the two lined up for a rolling drag race from 50 mph (80 km/h). Unsurprisingly, in this case it was the BMW that stormed ahead, opening up a sizeable lead and never letting its rival get anywhere close.

Admittedly, the M3 CS is a little pricier than the RS4 and a more appropriate race would see the Audi pitted against a ‘regular’ M3. However, production of that version ceased last year, so until the new one show up, the CS will have to suffice.
