Ford Extends Mustang Bullitt Production Run To 2020MY

Ford is responding to the success enjoyed by the special edition Mustang Bullitt in Europe by extending its production run into the 2020 model year.

This special edition of the Ford Mustang was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Bullitt film starring Steve McQueen. In its first year (2018), the whole production run sold out quickly after the official announcement, and the car has remained impressively popular ever since.

The Ford Mustang Bullitt is powered by an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine that features a freer-flowing induction system and manifold, 87mm throttle bodies and the powertrain control module from the Shelby GT350. Total output of the Euro-spec Bullitt is rated at 452hp (459PS) and 387lb-ft (526Nm) of torque.

Paired to the upgraded V8 is a six-speed manual transmission that comes with an auto-blipping function for smoother downshifts.

The interior of the 2020 Mustang Bullitt is equipped with Ford’s 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a set of Recaro sports seats and contrast stitching that reflects the exterior color. Speaking of which, customers can opt for either Shadow Black or the classic Highland Green. Each Mustang Bullitt is also accompanied by a numbered plaque and special badging.

Standard equipment includes FordPass Connect – which adds things like Live Traffic, WiFi hotspot, remote locking and unlocking, vehicle location and more. A premium B&O audio system with 12 speakers is also standard.

Ford has already opened the order books for the 2020 Mustang Bullitt, with first UK deliveries set to commence early next year.
