Lamborghini Huracan Evo Does The Quarter Mile… Faster Than You’d Think

In news that won’t surprise anyone, the Huracan Evo is fast. Like, really fast. But just how quick is it off the line?

To find out, Drag Times jumped behind the wheel of the updated baby Lambo at a drag strip and put it to the test for a number of sprints down the quarter-mile. The track conditions were good but not perfect.

The best run saw it accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 2.68 seconds before crossing the quarter-mile in 10.6-seconds at 130 mph (209 km/h). Brooks from the Drag Times channel believes that, with better weather and a perfectly-prepped drag strip, the Huracan Evo probably has a 10.3-second quarter mile up its sleeve.

If the Huracan Evo can actually do that, it would put it up there with the very best times recorded for the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. It would also be just a few fractions of a second behind the Ferrari 488 Pista and McLaren 720S, both of which feature forced induction and have significantly more power than the Raging Bull.

What we find more impressive than the straight-line performance is how capable the Evo appears to be on a race track, as earlier this month, SportAuto lapped Germany’s Hockenheim GP circuit in just 1:49, putting it just 0.5-seconds off the Porsche 918 Spyder.

The Huracan Evo is available in both Coupe and Spyder configurations, both powered by a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 delivering 631 HP and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque to all four wheels.
