New Cadillac CT4 And CT5-V To Debut Later This Month

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 won’t be launched until fall, but it appears the company will introduce the all-new CT5-V on May 30th.

According to Motor1, the high-performance model will debut later this month and be joined by the CT4.

Cadillac has been tight-lipped about the cars, but the CT5-V could come equipped with the company’s twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8. The engine produces 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS) and 574 lb-ft (777 Nm) of torque in standard form, while it develops 550 hp (410 kW / 557 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque in the range-topping CT6-V.

There’s no word on what the CT5-V will be rated at, but it will effectively replace the CTS-V which had a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 640 hp (477 kW / 649 PS) and 630 lb-ft (853 Nm) of torque. This enabled the sedan to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and onto a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).

If the CT5-V wasn’t exciting enough, Cadillac is also set to unveil the new CT4. Set to become the brand’s entry-level sedan, the car will likely ride on a shortened version of the CT5’s platform.

Engine options should carryover from its larger counterpart, so we can expect a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with approximately 237 hp (177 kW / 241 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. There could also be a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 which produces around 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque.

Little else is known about the CT4, but previous spy photos have shown the model will have an edgy design which follows in the footsteps of the CT5. It will also be significantly smaller than CT5, but there’s no word on dimensions quite yet.
