Roush Builds 710 HP 2019 Mustang GT ‘Old Crow’ One-Off For Charity

The teasing is over for this year’s one-off aviation-themed Ford Mustang built for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture show.

It’s called the 2019 “Old Crow” Mustang GT and it’s the result of the collaboration between Ford and Roush Performance. It’s also 12th one-of-a-kind Ford inspired by aviation and built for charity purposes.

The unique Mustang GT will be auctioned at The Gathering on July 25 at the AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with all proceeds benefiting the organization’s youth and adult aviation programs.

As the name clearly suggests, the “Old Crow” Mustang GT pays homage to the legendary P-51 Mustang fighter planes used by World War II triple ace pilot Colonel Bud Anderson of the U.S. Army Air Force.

The Mustang GT’s party piece is the custom paint scheme and badging replicating Colonel Anderson’s P-51 Mustang “Old Crow” fighter plane. In addition to the lively colors, the one-off pony car gets a custom Roush grille with P-51 Mustang badge, “Old Crow” inscription on the hod, and an authentic Eighth Air Force emblem badge on the deck lid panel.

The blue rainbow tinted exhaust tips emulate the exhaust on the P-51 Mustang planes, with other exterior enhancements including custom heat extractors on the hood, Roush rear fascia aerofoils, Ford Performance front racing spoiler, and the rear spoiler from the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. The car rides on custom 20-inch lightweight Roush wheels show with 275/35R Continental ExtremeContact sport tires.

The interior is fully custom as well and features aircraft-inspired elements such as the military-themed green leather and canvas on the door panels and dashboard, red shifter nob and door handles, as well as “P-51” lettering on the passenger-side dashboard. To show it means business, the “Old Crow” 2019 Mustang GT also comes with Sparco four-point harness and aluminum rear seat-delete.

Since it’s built by Roush Performance, the “Old Crow” Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine has been fitted with a TVS R2650 supercharger that boosts output to 710 horsepower and peak torque to 610 lb-ft (827 Nm). The custom car specialist has also thrown a Roush Performance cold air induction system and X pipe into the mix, with Ford Performance also supplying a custom active exhaust system.
