Skoda Fabia Gains Black And Comfort Optional Packages For 2020MY

The Skoda Fabia received a mid-life facelift last year but that hasn’t stopped the Czech automaker from further improving its supermini offerings.

The motivation behind it is probably to help the Fabia soldier on for a couple more years without losing too many sales to crossovers and SUV — some of which come from Skoda’s own backyard, by the way.

The VW-owned carmaker has announced two new optional equipment packages for the Fabia for the 2020 model year. There’s a new Black package available as of now which provides dark sporty accents.

Those include a black radiator grille taking inspiration from the Fabia Monte Carlo, black mirror caps, and black alloy wheels. The rims come in two different sizes and designs: 15-inch Matone and 16-inch Vigo. LED taillights round off the Black package, which can also be had with an optional black roof.

There’s also a new Comfort package available for the Ambition and Style trim levels that’s said to improve both safety and driving comfort. It includes the Light and Rain Assist (automatic headlights and wipers), as well as front and rear parking sensors. The comfort part includes front heated seats and heated windscreen washer jets.

Besides the two new packages, Skoda has added a motion sensor in the key of the optional KESSY entry system that further reduces the risk of someone stealing or breaking into a Fabia. If a car key is not moved for 15 minutes, the radio signal is automatically switched off only to be restarted once the key is moved again.
