After years of speculation, spy photos and leaks, Chevrolet will officially unveil the 2020 Corvette C8 tonight at 8 p.m. PDT (11 p.m. EST).
Easily one of this year’s most highly anticipated models, the 2020 C8 is the realization of Zora Arkus-Duntov’s dream for a mid-engine sports car. Even more than that, Chevrolet hopes the Corvette will elevate the brand and show them as an innovator who isn’t afraid to take risks.
While the model has already received some backlash from the Corvette faithful, it features a bold new design that is more aggressive than ever before. The front end is dominated by an angular fascia with large air intakes and slender headlights.
Moving further back, the car has a short hood and a rakish windscreen. There’s also sculpted bodywork which helps to channel air into two massive side scoops.
The sporty styling continues at the rear as the Corvette has a ventilated fascia and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Other highlights include a prominent diffuser, a rear wing and a ventilated engine cover.
If that wasn’t enough, the Corvette adopts an all-new interior with high quality materials that are worthy of a halo vehicle. Drivers sit behind a new two-spoke steering wheel and will find themselves looking at a digital instrument cluster and a ‘floating’ infotainment system which is supported by a stylish metal bracket.
There’s also a radical center console with a ramp-like structure that features controls for the climate control and heated / ventilated seats. Other niceties include a push button shifter, metallic trim and nicely upholstered surfaces.

While full details will be released tonight, the 2020 Corvette Stingray is expected to have a new 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine that produces between 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) and 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS). It will be connected a dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
