The Met Gala is arguably one of the biggest calendar highlights of the year.
And landing herself an invite to the prestigious fashion bash for the second year running, Adut Akech spared no expense when it came to her pre-event preparations.
The 19-year-old model indulged in a 24k gold mask facial, priced at $550 USD ($783) at Manhattan-based Soma Spa, favoured by the fashion and beauty elite.

Keen for her skin to be looking its best on the red carpet, Adut, who is currently in New York ahead of Monday’s event, took to Instagram to share a series of videos documenting her pre-Met Gala treatments.
She was treated to a three-stage facial that included a hydro-facial to rid the skin of any ‘build up, impurities and blackheads’, a high-frequency treatment to help ‘shrink pores’ and finally, the gold mask.
Adut’s beautician explained via the catwalk star’s Instagram story that the mask will ‘hydrate and brighten the skin’ and is great for ‘fighting blemishes and sensitive skin’.

It includes a deep extraction and the use of gold activates cell renewal and skin rejuvenation, thanks to its anti-aging properties and being rich in minerals.
Showing off the finished results, Adut looked sensational as she flaunted her flawless complexion for her followers.
A self-confessed fan of the treatment, Adut declared that she is ‘never going to wear make-up again’ after being left so impressed with how fresh her face now seems.

She said: ‘I have super sensitive skin and being a model and having to wear make-up every single day for work, that really doesn’t help my skin.
‘I’ve been struggling with my skin for so long because the minute anything goes on it, I just react. It’s so hard and frustrating.’
‘My skin hasn’t looked this good in a really long time and I’m so happy,’ she gushed.
‘I’m never wearing make-up again, the only time I will wear make-up is on Monday obviously for the Met but after that [shaking her head].’

Adut’s pampering session comes ahead of her appearance at the 2019 Met Gala held in New York on Monday (6 May).
Sharing her excitement for the event, Adut told fans: ‘Just two more sleeps away… I’m so thrilled that I’ve been invited to attend the 2019 Met Gala on Monday in New York! I had the best time last year, so cannot wait for this year.’
The gala, hosted by Anna Wintour, brings out the biggest stars in the fashion, beauty and entertainment world and often some of the most iconic red carpet style moments, thanks to its dress code that serves a different theme each year.
For 2019, the theme has been revealed as Camp: Notes on Fashion.

Adut’s invite comes after she was previously voted ‘the number one model in the world’ and landed herself the front cover of Allure for the magazine’s May issue.
The model, who fronted January’s Coach campaign, was born in a refugee camp in South Sudan and arrived in Adelaide when she was just seven-years-old.
She has since appeared in both Australia Vogue and British Vogue and credits supermodel Naomi Campbell as her ‘mentor’.
Adut and Naomi both featured in the 2018 Pirrelli calendar and Adut has previously praised the UK fashion star for being both her ‘role model’ and ‘support system’.
