Andrea McLean has shared on the unconventional way she battled some of the gruelling symptoms of menopause – including hot flushes and anxiety.
The Loose Women panelist, 49, has admitted that she turned to using the herbal remedy of CBD oil – when she heard about it being used to relieve side effects of going through hormonal changes.
According to The Mirror, she also credits her husband Mark Feeny for helping her battle with her anxiety that can sometimes lead to her ‘lacking confidence’ and ‘feeling stupid.’

Andrea told: ‘It [CBD oil] has massively taken the edge off things with the flushes and it has made me less anxious because anxiety is still a key thing for me.’
Sharing that she was put on medication by her GP that made her ‘feel like a different person.’
The TV personality said: ‘Before I started taking CBD oil my doctor recommended taking propranolol and it did change my life within a week’
‘It is not an anti-depressant but what I no longer feel is that sensation of being on high alert.’

The brunette beauty also touched on how her husband, who she met on a blind date in 2014, comforts her when she feels anxious as she adds he ‘understands me well’ and will ‘squeeze her arm and check she is okay’ when they are out.
Before tying the knot with Nick in 2017, Andrea shared her excitement to wed the gentleman, who she often describes as her ‘true love’ and ‘soul mate’ following her previous marriages breaking down.
She said: ‘I am excited now. About a month ago I had a meltdown about the whole thing. I am really excited. I am looking forward to saying I do and the two families coming together.

‘We are not staying apart the night before, but we are going to get ready separately so I won’t see him until I walk in.’
Nick is Andrea’s third husband, and she previously admitted she was cautious about tying the knot again after her two previous marriages ended in ‘painful’ divorces.
Her first marriage was to her teen sweetheart Nick Green in 2000 before divorcing him in 2005, after 17 years together and having a son.
She split from her second husband Steve Toms, a DIY specialist on UKTV show Our House, in 2011, they share a daughter.
