Bachelor contestant Vakoo Kauapirura has hit back at ‘tokenism’ claims, calling this season of the dating show a celebration of diversity.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday, the stunning 23-year-old model spoke about her star turn on the series.
‘There are so many standards of beauty so I’m really excited to be part of the season of diversity,’ she told the publication.

She went on to respond to questions of ‘tokenism’, with the Namibian-born beauty quickly shutting it down.
‘I knew within myself that I was on the show because of who I am as person and what I have to offer,’ Vakoo said.
She added: ‘I’m happy to be one of the first black girls on the show.’

This season is shaping up to be one of the most diverse casts in the history of the Australian version of the series.
In one the recent trailers, Matt is featured speaking to Iranian beauty Sogand Mohtat, 30, who speaks in Farsi to the handsome astrophysicist.
Alongside Sogand, he also appears taken with South African stunner Helena Sauzier, who speaks French to him during their introduction.

Ending the trailer, Matt appears to show a worldly side himself while meeting with a third beauty Kristen, 24, who he replies to back in Chinese.
Vakoo has long been rumoured to be appearing on the show, after she was pictured on a date with Bachelor star Matt.
The statuesque beauty is with Scoop Management and has become a YouTube star, with a loyal following of 10,000 people.

The beauty was born in Namibia, then moved to the UK before settling in Sydney around seven or eight years ago.
