Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner detail hilarious meeting with Harry and Meghan at Lion King premiere 

The Lion King premiere in London on Sunday was a star-studded affair. 

And despite being mega-stars in their own right, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner, who play Pumbaa and Timon respectively in the live-action remake, were starstruck themselves as they enjoyed an exchange with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. 

Speaking on Capital FM and later This Morning, the hilarious duo confessed they did not know if they were supposed to follow royal protocol because they are not from the UK as they questioned whether or not to call the couple ‘Your Royal Highness’.

Billy admitted he was beside himself with nerves ahead of meeting royalty at the film’s European premiere in London on Sunday afternoon.

The comedian, 40, nervously recited the perfect greeting for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex while practicing saying the perfect line with Seth.

He shared the encounter on Twitter, writing: ‘OMG Here I am completely freaking out to @SethRogen about how I’m going to greet Prince Harry and Meghan I’M CRYING.’

‘I’m going to say pleasure to meet you … is that bad?’ he asked Seth, who stars as Pumbaa, the counterpart to Eichner’s Timon. ‘I’m going to say it … I’m going to say it,’ he tells himself, seemingly striking up the courage to face Meghan and Harry.

Billy turned back-and-forth to Seth in hopes of reaffirmation for his planned introduction to royalty.

‘Keegan didn’t say it,’ as he motioned that the comedian Keegan Michael Key made a slight bow before offering a handshake.’

They have now embellished on the meet, as Seth said: ‘We were gauging what to do… do you really say your royal highness? In my head I kept thinking what if not?’ 

Billy also discussed going to college with Meghan, as he said: ‘We both went to Northwestern which is outside of Chicago which has a big theatre programme…

‘And she was a theatre major, I was a theatre major and so when I met her the other night all we did is have this strange casual conversation about our acting teachers. Coz we had some of the same acting teachers.. 

Additionally Seth spoke about his experience with music royalty, Beyoncé, as he spoke about trying to approach her at the Grammys and her security spilling his drink.

She said: ‘I tried to approach her and she was with Gwyneth Paltrow at the time and I was holding a drink and her security shoved me so hard that I spilled my drink all over myself and then I had to go present…

‘I introduced Eminem and Rihanna and I had just spilled a drink all over myself and I literally, I’m actually like standing funny to cover up a giant drink stain all over my suit.’
