Sunrise’s Sam Mac has slammed fellow Gold Logie nominee, Tom Gleeson, as a ‘bully’ for releasing a series of attack ads in the lead up to Sunday’s Logie Awards.
Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on Tuesday, the Channel Seven weatherman said he is unimpressed by the Hard Quiz host’s ‘smear campaign’ on Twitter against this year’s Gold Logie nominees.
‘I love all of the other nominees except Tom Gleeson because I think that he’s been bullying people,’ Sam said.

He also jokingly told news.com.au: ‘I feel that perhaps some of his own insecurities are coming through in this campaign.
‘He’s constantly talking about being hard, which is a little unnerving. He seems to have an obsession with phallic things, so maybe that’s why the Logie is appealing to him.’
This year’s Gold Logie nominees include Sam, Tom, The Project’s Waleed Aly, Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis, Doctor Doctor star Rodger Corser, The Living Room host Amanda Keller and Neighbours star Eve Morey.

ABC host Tom has already released attack ads targeting his other rivals and his latest Twitter video takes aim at Sam.
‘Sunrise used to be safe, family-friendly viewing until Sam Mac came along. Now it’s nonstop nudity, wall to wall balls… He’s only nominated because the actual Sunrise hosts are even less likeable than he is…,’ Tom states in the clip.
Traditionally, nominees band together and publicly support each other ahead of the ceremony.

It comes after Amanda Keller slammed Tom for launching a tongue-in-cheek ‘smear campaign’ against her on Twitter.
She previously said she’s ‘struggling’ with Tom’s unique approach to drumming up votes.
‘It’s hard because Tom is playing a different game, and that’s what I’m finding I’m struggling with to the honest,’ she said.
Tom recently released a political campaign-style video containing several comedic jabs about Amanda’s character and appearance.
While Amanda said she understands Tom’s campaign is all in jest, she said the personal attacks aren’t necessary.
‘It’s always been that the nominees are a happy soup and I still want us to be a happy soup, there’s no need to make it personal and pick us all off’, she said.
Controversial: Tom has relentlessly mocked the Logies for years, but now finds himself nominated for Gold – something Amanda believes isn’t fair
Speaking to The Courier Mail on Sunday, Amanda revealed that she is refusing to be photographed with Tom in the lead-up to the awards night.
‘I have been asked to do a number of pictures with him arm wrestling or with the boxing gloves on and I have chosen not to do any of that,’ she said.
‘There are seven of us in the mix, not just me and Tom.’

Tom has been nominated for this year’s Gold Logie, and is determined to walk away with the prize just to prove how ‘preposterous’ the whole spectacle really is.
He previously hijacked last year’s ceremony by launching a joke campaign on behalf of Family Feud’s Grant Denyer which ended up being successful.
Tom started his #Denyer4Gold campaign because he thought it would be funny if someone took home the top prize despite having their show cancelled.
This year, Tom is nominated for both the Gold Logie and Most Popular Presenter.
The TV Week Logie Awards will take place at The Star Gold Coast on June 30
