The surprising reason Natalie Barr ONLY pays with cash: Sunrise host reveals she uses an ATM once a week and avoids card transactions
Sunrise host Natalie Barr has revealed the surprising reason why she only pays in cash as the country recovers from an EFTPOS crisis.
Natalie said on Friday that she didn’t notice the outage because she uses an ATM once a week to withdraw the money she needs and actively avoids paying by card.
She made the admission during a news report about a Telstra outage on Thursday that resulted in thousands of ATMs malfunctioning and businesses like Woolworths and Caltex being unable to accept card payments.

‘Who carries cash?’ asked Sunrise host Sam Armytage.
‘I do,’ Natalie replied. ‘I take cash out every week and use it to buy my red [wine] and my apples and I did not notice that outage.
‘You should see the look I get when I say, “Can I pay with cash?”‘

Natalie’s cash confession came just hours after customers and businesses were thrown into chaos by a Telstra outage on Thursday afternoon.
Customers were unable to use thousands of ATMs from Commonwealth, ANZ, NAB, and Westpac banks from 3pm.
Meanwhile, major retailers like Xbox, Woolworths, Australia Post and Caltex were unable to process payments.
Telstra announced that most of its service was back online by 7pm.
