In 2015, Kerry Key, a geophysicist at Columbia College, and Opt Evans, a geologist and geophysicist at Woods Gap Oceanographic Institution, dropped particular instruments to the ocean ground shut to these long-established oil drill holes to measure electromagnetic fields and method the water. Since freshwater just isn’t any longer as just of a conductor of electromagnetic waves as salt water, the freshwater stood out.
