In 2017, he shocked fans with his bold bald look. 

And during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Alexander Skarsgård discussed the look, which was for his movie The Hummingbird Project, as he confessed he felt he would be more convincing to shave rather than use a cap.

The 42-year-old Swedish heartthrob said: ‘I was shooting a movie up in Montreal and I decided to shave my head for it. I wanted to be bald and I thought for some reason it would look more natural, instead of doing a bald cap… to really shave it’.

Alexander, who plays Anton Zaleski in the movie which was released in the US last month, stunned his devoted fans when he showed off his sheared style. 

His extremely receded hairline drove fans wild on social media, who were quick to pick up on his resemblance to various bald or balding celebrities. 

During his talk on the chat show, he explained: ‘I was shooting a movie up in Montreal called The Hummingbird Project and I decided to shave my head for it…

‘I had one weekend off, I went down to New York for this event,” he explained about walking the red carpet. When I stepped out of the car and there was this press line with photographers. And I stepped out…

The film follows Vincent (Jesse Eisenberg) and Anton who are cousins from New York who are players in the High Frequency Trading game. They plan to become millionaires by building a fiber optic cable that runs from Kansas to New Jersey. 

Salma stars as their former boss Eva Torres, a powerful yet manipulative trader who will stop at nothing to get in their way. Their journey to riches shows them that money is not the ultimate prize.
