Amanda Holden has been crowned Rear Of The Year after seeing off competition from Carol Vorderman and Holly Willoughby for the title.

The radio host, 48, was awarded the honour for her ‘proportionate and understated rear’ after receiving 12,000 online votes to bag the win.

Amanda is following in the footsteps of stunning actress Michelle Keegan, who was hailed as Rear Of The Year in 2018 by the voting public.

Carol was hot competition for Amanda, after recently exhibiting her extraordinary new curves in an array of form-fitting ensembles.

Amanda left rivalry from fake’ bottoms behind after the TV star’s proportions were favoured over more enhanced posteriors.

Rear Of The Year organiser Tony Edwards said of Holden: ‘She has a particularly shapely, well-toned and, above all, proportionate and understated rear…

‘In contrast to the somewhat exaggerated, fake, cosmetic look for bottoms, recently imported from the USA. They won’t win any style awards in the UK.’

Amanda was up against a wealth of tough competition, which also included the Duchess Of Sussex and Rachel Riley.

It is no surprise that the TV regular, who has previously courted controversy for her scanty ensembles, had many fans backing her in the race.

Mr Edwards said: ‘Vegetarian Amanda obviously enjoys the support of an active fan base which seems to be regularly focused on her pert posterior, ensuring that she topped the voting for 2019.’

In May last year, she shared her secrets to The Daily Mail : ‘You have to enjoy life. I eat everything. Drink everything. I have a friend who didn’t make it to her 50s and her biggest regret was she spent her life on a diet. I don’t diet.

‘I go to a fitness camp in Portugal before the live shows. I’m a vegetarian, so for me it’s lots of avocado, chickpeas, and quinoa salads as well as hikes and boxing.

‘It’s really good for your mindset, rather like unplugging your computer and plugging it back in.’

In the men’s competition, Sir Andy Murray triumphed over the likes of Harry Styles, Aiden Turner, Idris Elba, and Jamie Dornan.

Mr Edwards said: ‘Andy Murray, 32, who took the title from Poldark star Aiden Turner is clearly one of Britain’s most popular athletes and his well-toned physique seems to command an army of fans, particularly around Wimbledon tennis fortnight.’

He added of the two winners: ‘Amanda and Andy’s celebrity rears represent perfect examples of today’s toned and firm gluteus maximus – with quality rather than quantity as the essential fashion keynote.

‘Biggest is rarely best when it comes to bottoms.’

The very first Rear of the Year’ award was presented in 1976 to actress Barbara Windsor but it wasn’t until Felicity Kendal’s win in 1981 that it became an annual event with a presentation.
