Gold Logie nominee Amanda Keller unleashes on Tom Gleeson for mocking the awards and launching a smear campaign against her – and says she REFUSES to be pictured with him
The Living Room’s Amanda Keller, 57, has slammed her fellow Gold Logie nominee ABC comedian Tom Gleeson, 45, for mocking the annual awards with a comedic smear campaign against her on Twitter.
Speaking to News Corp on Sunday, Amanda said she is ‘struggling’ with Tom’s approach to drumming up votes ahead of TV’s night of nights next Sunday.
‘It’s hard because Tom is playing a different game, and that’s what I’m finding I’m struggling with to the honest,’ she told the publication.
‘There’s no need to make it personal!’ Amanda Keller, 57, has slammed Gold Logie rival Tom Gleeson for mocking the awards with a comedic smear campaign against her… and says she REFUSES to be photographed next to him
It comes after Tom released a political campaign-style video containing a slew of tongue-in-cheek attacks on Amanda’s character and appearance.
While Amanda told News Corp that she understands that Tom’s campaign is all in jest, she insisted that the personal attacks weren’t necessary.
‘It’s always been that the nominees are a happy soup, and I still want us to be a happy soup, there’s no need to make it personal and pick us all off’, she said.
Speaking to The Courier Mail on Sunday, Amanda revealed that she also refuses to be photographed one-on-one with Tom in the lead-up to the awards night.
‘I have been asked to do a number of pictures with him arm wrestling or with the boxing gloves on and I have chosen not to do any of that,’ she said.
‘There are seven of us in the mix, not just me and Tom.’
Up for gold: Ironically, Tom has been nominated for this year’s Gold Logie, and is determined to walk away with the prized statue to prove how ‘preposterous’ the whole spectacle really is
Tom has been nominated for this year’s Gold Logie, and is determined to walk away with the prized statue to prove how ‘preposterous’ the whole spectacle really is.
Ironically, Tom campaigned for last year’s Gold Logie winner Grant Denyer, as he thought it would be funny if someone took home the prize despite having their show cancelled.
Grant was nominated as host of Channel Seven’s Family Feud, despite the show having recently been axed.

This year, Tom is nominated for both the Gold Logie and Most Popular Presenter, for his Hard Chat segments on ABC’s The Weekly with Charlie Pickering and Hard Quiz.
Tom, who has created the hashtag #Gleeson4Gold, is the bookies favourite, ahead of Amanda, Waleed Aly and Rodger Corser.
The TV WEEK Logie Awards will take place at The Star, Gold Coast on June 30.
