Billy Drago, who’s best known for playing Al Capone’s henchman Frank Nitti in 1987’s The Untouchables, has died.

The character actor passed away on Monday in Los Angeles  due to complications from a stroke, THR.com reported Wednesday.

He was 73.

Drago earned critical acclaim for his role in Brian De Palma’s The Untouchables which starred Robert De Niro as Capone and Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness.

He also had a role in Clint Eastwood’s classic western Pale Rider, released in 1985, and co-starred with Chuck Norris in 1990’s Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection.

Drago worked steadily in film and television for 35 years and was last seen on screen in the 2014 movie Low Down with Glenn Close, Elle Fanning and John Hawkes.

His TV work included a recurring role as the demon Barbas on Charmed and guest roles on such primetime hits as Nash Bridges, The X-Files, Moonlighting and Hill Street Blues.

He also appeared in Michael Jackson’s 2001 video You Rock My World.

The actor was born in Kansas on July 18, 1946, and started out as a journalist and radio host.

He arrived in Hollywood after touring with a theater group, according to THR.com, winning his first Tinseltown role in the 1979 TV movie No Other Love starring Richard Thomas and Julie Kavner.

The actor, whose real name was William Eugen Burrows Jr., was married to actress Silvana Gallardo from 1980 until her death in 2012.    

His is survived by his sons, several grandchildren and two siblings.
