‘I’m looking forward to spending forever together as your wife’: Bindi Irwin announces her engagement to Chandler Powell on her 21st birthday
Bindi Irwin, 21, and her American boyfriend Chandler Powell, 22, are officially engaged.
The happy couple took to Instagram to announce the happy news on Wednesday, which was Bindi’s 21st birthday.
Sharing a photo of her diamond engagement ring, Bindi wrote: ‘On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.’

She continued: ‘Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forward to spending our forever together as your wife.
‘Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!’
Chandler shared a similarly gushing post on his own Instagram page.

‘She said YES!’ he wrote. ‘Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo.
‘I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light.
‘Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday.’

In last November’s issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Bindi said that Chandler was ‘the one’.
‘I’m lucky I have found the one, the person I want to spend all my time with,’ she said at the time.
‘We’re both lucky to have found that person, because that doesn’t always happen for people and we’re still so young.’

Bindi is the only daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin.
She met Chandler, a former professional wake boarder, in 2013 while giving him a tour of Australia Zoo.
The Florida-born athlete now works alongside Bindi, her mother Terri, and her brother Robert at Australia Zoo.
