Chris Brown has called his ex-girlfriend Rihanna a ‘queen’ on social media – a decade after assaulting the singer so badly she required hospitalization.
On Friday, Chris Brown shared his thoughts on Rihanna’s recent set of steamy lingerie photos to promote her upcoming Savage X Fenty releases.
The 29-year-old singer complimented the 31-year-old artist and entrepreneur, while urging her to release new music.

The comments were left on a single picture posted to Rihanna’s Instagram, a stunning photo of the Work singer in profile, bathed in blue and magenta in front of a floral-patterned background.
She showed off a white bustier bra from her lingerie collection.
‘BOUGHT TO BREAK DA INTERNET! ❤️. KEEP RISING QUEEN,’ wrote Brown, before adding, ‘MUSIC SOON PLEASE.’

The relationship between the two singers was fractured in the early hours of February 8, 2009, when what began as an argument ended with Brown assaulting Rihanna badly enough to require hospitalization.
He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats the following month, initially pleading not guilty, before pleading guilty to a single felony count.
He was ordered to serve five years of probation, community service and counseling for domestic violence.
The two later reunited in early 2013, before breaking up again later that year.

Brown’s 2009 assault wasn’t his only brush with the law.
In 2012, the R&B singer was involved in an altercation at a New York night club with rapper Drake and his entourage that left eight people with injuries.
The following year, singer Frank Ocean alleged that Brown had shoved him and threatened to shoot him during an argument over a parking space outside a West Hollywood recording studio.
The same year he had 1,000 hours added to his community service requirements after his involvement in an alleged hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles.
Brown was sentenced to 131 days in jail in 2014 following parole violations, though he was released early due to overcrowding.
More violence: Following a Florida concert in July 2018, the Beautiful People singer was arrested on a felony battery charge and released on $2,000 bail; mugshot from July 5, 2018
He was arrested again in 2016, after a woman called the police claiming he had threatened her with a gun inside his home. He engaged in a standoff with the LAPD after refusing them entry with their search warrant, all while posting inflamed Instagram videos about the incident.

The Look At Me Now singer recently feuded with the Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches after the group posted a statement to social media criticism the producer Marshmello for working with ‘people who are predators and and abusers.’
They had recorded a track with the musician (real name: Christopher Comstock) prior to his collaboration with Brown and the rapper Tyga for the track Light It Up.
In additions to Brown’s legal troubles, Tyga has been sued by multiple women for filming them topless, then releasing the unedited footage after promising their bare breasts would not be shown.
He was also the object of criticism after it was revealed he was dating reality star Kylie Jenner. Their relationship allegedly date back to when she was only 16, despite the age of consent being 18 in California, where both Tyga and Kylie live.
Brown commented on Chvrches’ statment, calling the band a ‘BUNCH OF LOSERS,’ adding that he wished they would walk ‘in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients.’
Singer Lauren Mayberry was subsequently beset by rape threats and crude insults after making the statement.
