They have been together for 29 years and raise two sons. 

And Colin Firth and wife Livia appeared in high spirits as they enjoyed a very stylish date night at the Chopard Bond Street Boutique reopening in London on Monday evening.

The Oscar-winning actor, 58, put on a dapper display in a suave suit as he joined his film producer wife, 49, at the star-studded fashion event.

The King’s Speech star looked immaculate in a black suit which he paired with black shoes, a tie and thick-framed glasses. 

Livia looked elegant in a structured navy blue gown with a full skirt, boasting a plunging neckline.

The mother-of-two accessorised the look with a silver clutch bag and an eye-catching turquoise necklace. 

Livia swept her dark locks into a tight bun, and added height to her frame with silver strappy sandals.

The couple, who share sons Luca, 17, and Matteo, 15, first met in Colombia in 1995 while filming a BBC adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s novel Nostromo. 

They married in a hilltop ceremony at a 13th-century church near Livia’s home in Citta della Pieve near the Italian city of Perugia in June 1997. 

Livia is an Oxfam ambassador and a founding member of Annie Lennox’s The Circle, a women’s advocacy group.

She has also founded Eco-Age, a consultancy that advises fashion companies on environmental sustainability.

Following his award-winning role in The King’s Speech, Colin thanked Livia her ‘for putting up with my fleeting delusions of royalty’ in his Oscar acceptance speech. 

Colin, who began to learn Italian after he started dating Livia, revealed that he had  applied for Italian citizenship after describing Brexit as a ‘disaster’ in an interview with an Austrian newspaper in 2016.

Their relationship hit the headlines in 2018 when Livia admitted she had embarked on a year-long affair with the Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia during a brief separation from Colin.

Livia also claimed she was being stalked by Marco and alleged he had bombarded her with threatening phone calls and text messages after the relationship ended.
