Corrie’s Catherine Tyldesley looks UNRECOGNISABLE as throwback snap from Two Pints of Lager emerges

She’s best known for playing feisty barmaid Eva Price in Coronation Street between 2006 and 2018.

But Catherine Tyldesley looked unrecognisable as a throwback snap from her role in hit comedy Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps emerged.

The actress, 35, only appeared in the sitcom for one episode back in 2011, but that didn’t stop one eagle-eyed fan from spotting the soap star, who looked drastically different from what she does now.

The snap emerged when one fan tweeted a screen grab of her scene, writing on Twitter: ‘Watching old episodes of Two Pints of Lager and look who popped up @Cath_Tyldesley you just never age one bit.’

Seeing the funny side to the retro snap, the star replied: ‘the power of make up! But Thankyou! Xx’, alongside several crying with laughter emojis.

The image in question sees a fresh-faced, blonde haired Catherine in her small role as Amy, in an episode titled Cheese Toastie.

The scene, which aired eight years ago, sees lead character Donna, played by Natalie Casey, swallow her pride and sign-on at the job centre.

There, she runs into her former school bully Amy, who just so happens to work at there as a clerk.

Nowadays, Catherine looks worlds away from her old school look, sporting sleek, brunette tresses and a sharp bone structure.

Earlier this month, the mum-of-one admitted she ‘doesn’t recognise the person she was before she dropped seven dress sizes’. She famously dropped from a size 22 to a size 8-10 after adopting a healthier lifestyle.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she said: ‘As soon as I lost the weight I felt so much better physically and mentally. And, I still train hard and I eat well.

‘For the main reason being nothing to do with weight loss, really. It just helps me mentally and I feel better for it.

‘It’s a way of life for me now. And then with Alfie [her four-year-old son with husband Tom Pitfield] coming along, it goes from wanting to look good to wanting to be on this earth for as long as possible, and making sure you’re eating the right nutrients and being as active as possible.

‘And, I’m kind of at that point where I’m just like, “Do you know what? I eat well, I exercise as much as I can – time permitting – and this is as good as it’s gonna get [laughs] so you’ve kind of just gotta roll with it”.’

The soap star is reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ with producers of the flagship BBC show ahead of the the series launch in the Autumn.

The Sun report that bosses are so keen to get the popular actress on board that they’ve already given her a ‘pairing test with a pro dancer’ to see which professional she’ll be best suited to.

Producers think Catherine ‘will be a great signing because of her strong fan following and her bubbly personality. They can see her going far in the competition,’ claims an insider.
