Demi Lovato appeared to throw shade at Taylor Swift on Monday during the broadcast of the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

The 25-year-old singer posted to Instagram Story right after Taylor, 29, picked up the coveted Video Of The Year award.

‘I skipped the VMA’s for a REASON,’ Demi posted in white letters on a black background.

‘Well that and I just hate awards shows,’ she added with a crying happy face emoji.

Demi sided with her new manager Scooter Braun, 38, after his Ithaca Holdings earlier this year acquired Big Machine Label Group and Taylor’s music catalog.

Taylor railed against the $300 million purchase in a June 30 post on Tumblr and accused Scooter of ‘incessant, manipulative bullying’ for years.

Demi signed with Scooter in May and defended him on social media after Taylor blasted him.
