She left in a black cab with her husband Martin and daughters Lily and Hope just before the police arrived at her house.

But Stacey left her other son Arthur behind with his father Kush while her mother Jean, who is battling cancer, is set for an operation.

Stacey had an emotional goodbye with Arthur with Kush not believing her story about having to leave to look after her brother Sean Slater.

She bid a fond farewell to Arthur, telling him: ‘You see this. That’s mum’s heart I’ve just drawn. So when you miss me you can press it and it will be like I’m here.’

While the police did house checks on the street, Stacey snuck into a cab with Martin and her daughters.

Tearing up as she waved goodbye to Arthur, Stacey made a heart symbol with her fingers as she left.

Lacey said of the storyline: ‘She sees that as her only option, obviously Stacey has a history with the police, so she thinks this could put her away for a very long time and she’s petrified.
