‘It can end in amputation or even death’: Eurovision star Kate Miller-Heidke reveals she was rushed to hospital after being diagnosed with cellulitis
Australian singer Kate Miller-Heidke has revealed she was rushed to hospital after contracting cellulitis from a blister.
The 37-year-old, who is preparing to compete in the Eurovision song contest next week, took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal her health scare, which occurred a few weeks ago.
Kate said she was left ‘panicked’ and ‘upset’ after learning how serious the deep tissue infection can be, saying it can ‘end in amputation or even death.’

Sharing snaps of herself resting up in hospital, Kate said she got the infection after getting a blister from wearing high heels.
She said came back to Australia from Europe with the infection.
The Last Day on Earth singer began her Twitter thread, writing: ‘DON’T PANIC! This was a few weeks ago. I came back from Europe with a very serious infection which can end in amputation or even death. All from a blister. Anyone who has worn them knows high heels can can kill – but I never took it literally.’
