George Clooney jokes he ‘got nothing’ from wife Amal for his 58th birthday… while twins Alexander and Ella, 23 months, left him a VERY unpleasant surprise
George Clooney joked that he ‘got nothing’ for his birthday during a chat show appearance Tuesday in Los Angeles.
‘I turned 58. Nothing is fun,’ the Oscar-winner said on Jimmy Kimmel Live when asked how he celebrated his birthday Monday.
George then revealed that he and his lawyer wife Amal, 41, enjoyed a low-key dinner at home.

He then shared that Amal for the past year had been ‘working literally every single day’ to secure the release of Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo from Myanmar.
‘Last night they walked out of prison,’ George told host Jimmy, 51.
‘That’s a good birthday present, wow,’ Jimmy said.
‘She was very happy. I got nothing,’ George quipped.

George admitted that he did receive ‘some presents’ and Jimmy asked if he received a ‘token gift’ from his 23-month-old twins Ella and Alexander.
‘Just poop,’ George quipped.
The Syriana star shared that his daughter Ella is sick and woke them up at 2:30am on his birthday.

George said they put her on their bed and she ‘takes over the bed’ so he surrounded his bed with pillows in case she fell and slept in her nursery.
‘Happy birthday to you,’ Jimmy said.

The Out Of Sight star also shared that he went to Ireland for the first time.
George said he planned to go with his parents Nina and Nick, but his 85-year-old father had hernia surgery.
‘The funniest part is he got a hernia because he does 300 situps a day,’ he said. ‘For real. He got a hernia from them.’

George also spilled that he spent Easter with Bono, 58, at the U2 singer’s house in Ireland.
‘We try to only do Easter with rock stars,’ George deadpanned.
‘It’s sad when you see a rocker hiding all the eggs,’ he joked.

The series based on the novel of the same name by Joseph Heller will premiere on May 17.
George plays Lieutenant Scheisskopf who later becomes Colonel and eventually General and also is an executive producer of Catch-22.
