Hannah Brown denies she’s promiscuous as she slams back at slut-shamers

She famously declared ‘I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me’ while sending contestant Luke Parker packing on Monday’s The Bachelorette.

And now Hannah Brown has followed up on that episode by denying she’s promiscuous and slamming slut-shamers who have targeted her on social media.

The 24-year-old reality television contestant explained she had only kissed five guys and slept with two before she began the ABC show as she spoke to People on Friday.

‘I sit with people who know me the most and think, “How have I become the sex girl?” Like, I had only kissed five guys and I had sex with my two long relationship boyfriends.

‘College was the first time. It wasn’t like I was what anybody would call “promiscuous.” And then now I’ve been slut-shamed for it,’ she remarked to the publication.

The former pageant queen said that the ‘slut-shaming’ started when she was seen making out with the ‘same three or four guys’ on the show.

She described her week in Greece, in which she shared the Fantasy Suite with two different guys, as ‘a game-changing week in Greece. and Jesus still loves me,’ on her Instagram.

‘It’s just not okay because this show is about trying to find a husband and a part of a relationship, a marriage, is physical intimacy. And if I want to make out with a guy, I’m going to make out with them,’ she told People, of the backlash.

The beauty finally kicked Luke to the curb on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette and read him the riot act after he tried to shame her for having sex.

During the show’s Fantasy Suites week, the 24-year-old importer/exporter not-so-subtly challenged Hannah to reveal what she had done with other men on the show.

‘If you told me you were having sex, or you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, I would be wanting to go home, 100 percent,’ he revealed, painting it as a moral issue.

Hannah was understandably furious and finally said goodbye to Luke.

‘I prayed so much for clarity… and I feel like I’ve finally gotten clarity on you. I do not want you to be my husband,’ she told him.

When he refused to leave, she encouraged him into the car by telling him that she had had sex with two of the other guys.

‘I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me,’ she declared, before flipping him off as he drove off.

The pair then got into a theological debate on Twitter on Wednesday after Luke attempted to explain his actions in an Instagram post.

‘It hurt my heart that  @alabamahannah felt I was shaming her,’ Luke first wrote on Instagram, along with a photo taken from their fantasy suite date.

'If you told me you were having sex, or you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, I would be wanting to go home, 100 percent,' he demanded of the contestant

Hannah got involved after Luke began elaborating on Twitter and tagged her in a tweet about sin.

‘The difference in how we view sin is seen in the response, I’m weeping at mine and you’re laughing at yours. All sin stings. My heart hurts for both of us,’ he tweeted.

Hannah fired back with a reminder that no one was perfect.

‘Time and time again jesus loved and ate with “sinners” who laughed. and time and time again he rebuked “saints” that judged. where do you fall Luke?’

They fought back and forth, having a moral and religious argument about sin and shame.

‘I have never said that i find my sin funny. i’m not going to lectured on appropriate emotional responses by a guy who threw deli meat in a guys lap.’

She continued, ‘the devil wants to shame sin. God dealt with shame when he dealt with sin, so i will not allow someone who comes in the name of God to bring me something that God has taken off me.’

Luke re-iterated his opinion once more before offering a chance to chat about it one-on-one, getting the last word.

By being so open about her experiences and having the ups and downs of her relationships play out so publicly, Brown says that she is hoping to change the conversation.

‘We’ve got to change the language of how women speak to women and how men speak to women and how we shame them for the decisions that we make.

‘Everybody’s relationship is different and we just need to support and encourage each other and make sure that we’re making the right decisions for ourselves and what we’re ready for in relationships,’ she concluded.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
