Holly Hagan talks marriage plans with beau Jacob Blyth and ditching her wild party girl image

She burst onto TV screens back in 2011 as the wild party-girl who introduced herself as ‘fit, flirty and I’ve got double F’s.’

But Holly Hagan has insisted she is trying to ditch her boozy Geordie Shore image, two years after finding love with her boyfriend Jacob Blyth.

The reality star, 27, who has teamed with anti-bullying charity, Ditch The Label, for Mental Health Week, revealed she’s the ‘happiest I’ve ever been’ and is already ‘broody’ after her former co-star Marnie Simpson announced she was having a baby.

Gushing about her relationship with footballer Jacob, she told MailOnline: ‘I’ve never been in a relationship with someone who has loved me back. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt that.’

And the couple’s relationship is going from strength-to-strength, with Holly packing up and leaving her Teesside home to start her new life in Manchester with the 26-year-old on Monday.

‘We’ve got a house, it’s not ready yet, it’s just being built,’ she said. ‘I’ve just moved into his flat, we’re a bit pushed for space, We just don’t want to be apart. It’s been two years now and honestly it’s been the best two years of my life. I’m so excited for the future.’

And a proposal could soon be on the cards: ‘I’m hoping for a ring, anytime now would be great. I’m just waiting for it,’ Holly gushed.

‘Everything I want to do he’s completely on board with, I don’t feel like I’m pressurising him in any way, he’s so excited to move in with me.’

Holly also admitted Marnie’s pregnancy news has left the star feeling very broody.

Marnie is four months pregnant and expecting a baby with her boyfriend Casey Johnson.

The Geordie Shore veteran said: ‘I’m so excited, I can’t wait. It was obviously a shock because it was Marnie.

‘We didn’t expect it to be Marnie who was the one out of the girls to get pregnant first. But I’m so, so happy for her and she looks incredible.

‘It’s obviously making me broody now. I think she’s started a domino effect.’

While the MTV star is the ‘happiest she’s ever been’, it’s not always been the case.

The Geordie beauty faced crippling anxiety three years ago when her toxic relationship with Kyle Christie came to an end.

At the height of her battle she suffered from panic attacks, lost her confidence and self esteem- with the thought of even going to the supermarket being too much to handle.

She admitted: ‘I kind of wish I had experienced a proper relationship before Jacob.

‘In the relationship with Kyle, I would just think the way he treated me was normal. I would think every couple argued all the time and every couple had to really fight for the relationship.

‘So when I got with Jacob I realised when you’re with the right person, it’s so easy you don’t have to fight at all. It’s the most natural thing in the world.

‘I don’t regret the relationship with Kyle because it taught me so much, I learned everything I know from that relationship.

‘It only made me a stronger person.’

Speaking about how the relationship and life in the limelight impacted her mental health, she said: ‘I’ve had it from all different angles, I’ve suffered massively from anxiety and panic attacks.

‘I would get an attack if I was shopping at a supermarket by myself and people would stare at me and take photos. I also got it when I was on a train. There was a stag do and they were getting a bit lairy, things like that would set them off.’

Holly said she didn’t receive therapy but chose to deal with it herself.

‘I was quite unconfident and low self-esteem at times, once I did become more confident and self-assured it died down a little bit,’ she admitted.

And Holly is trying to distance herself from her Geordie Shore persona, admitting the ‘wild, crazy girl isn’t there anymore’.

‘I think for me I’m getting so much older now, that wild and crazy girl isn’t there anymore.

‘I want people to see I am a woman now, I am grown up and I do want to use my platform for more things than just going out and getting drunk.

‘It’s a natural progression for being in your late twenties I suppose.’

With age, Holly has learned the best way to deal with cruel online trolls.

She said: ‘For me, in the beginning it was a lot more difficult. Being an 18-year-old girl, I was thrust in a situation that I didn’t really know much about and then I’ve had to learn along the way.

‘In the beginning you want to reply to all of them and say “you’re wrong, I’m right”.

‘It doesn’t do any good. The best way to deal with it now I’ve find is to either kill them with kindness and just send them lots of love and hope that whatever they’re going through they get through it.’
