New kids on The Block! Inside Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker’s bohemian Byron Bay home with soaring ceilings and rustic furnishings – as they settle into their new lives in the hippie town
Earlier this year, The Block winners Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker packed up their lives in Melbourne and drove 1,600km north to settle in Byron Bay.
And on Monday, the couple offered a glimpse inside their stunning new bungalow, which they are currently in the process of renovating.
The house flippers, who have been dating for six years, showed off their home’s boho-style interiors and rustic furnishings in a gallery of photos shared to Instagram.

How inviting! Elyse and Josh’s living room is furnished with a grey couch and vintage chair, which have both been elegantly decorated with cushions and throw rugs
In one photo shared to Instagram, Josh and Elyse showed off their lounge room, which was decorated in a bohemian style.
The Myer ambassador clearly has an eye for style, choosing a modular couch piled high with vintage throw rugs and cushions.
She also displayed her love of rustic furniture by decorating the room with a long wooden coffee table and muted rug.
The table itself is adorned with clay pots and expensive coffee table books about fashion and design.

Their Byron Bay hideaway also features high ceilings and is flooded with natural light.
Josh and Elyse have emphasised the home’s coastal view with low-hanging wicker pendants.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the couple had bought their new ‘dream home’ for around $1.9million.

Elyse described the place as ‘run down’ in an interview with Women’s Health in April, but she was most likely referring to the home’s rustic interiors.
That same month, she published a lengthy blog post about why she wanted to swap her life in Melbourne for the quieter surrounds of Byron Bay.
She claimed that ‘change can bring opportunity’ and she was looking forward to finding ‘fresh beginnings and a new perspective’ on life.
Elyse and Josh won the 2017 season of The Block, earning a $547,000 profit after selling their Elsternwick renovation to comedian Dave Hughes.
