It is a bittersweet time for Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos.
The Live With Kelly And Ryan host and the Riverdale actor, both 48, shed some happy, proud tears when they sent their daughter Lola Consuelos, 18, off to college this weekend.
‘The nest is getting roomy………,’ Ripa captioned an Instagram photo of herself kissing her daughter on the cheek.
Consuelos shared the same sweet snap and wrote, ‘2 down… 1 to go…’

With his caption, the proud father was referring to their oldest child Michael, 22, who has been attending New York University.
Their only child left in ‘the nest’ is 16-year-old son Joaquin.
To mark the monumental moment, Ripa also shared a selfie photo taken by Lola on her Insta-Story.
It shows mother and daughter standing side-by-side with the line, ‘Literally like, bye ma,’ written on the top of it, and a drawing of a queen’s crown added over Lola.

The couple have been preparing themselves for this latest departure from their home nest.
On Thursday, the daytime talk show queen posted an emotional throwback photo from 2001, showing her then infant daughter during her christening.
‘#tbt 2001 from your Christening to college. In the blink of an eye. I’m not crying. You’re crying (actually Daddy’s sobbing),’ she wrote.
Consuelos commented with the simple but sweet, ‘❤️❤️❤️.’
The couple met in 1995 when they were co-stars on All My Children.
They ended up eloping in May of 1996 and have been living together in New York City ever since.
