Kyle Sandilands snapped on-air after Russell Crowe cancelled his planned phone interview on his breakfast radio show on Thursday.
The 48-year-old shock jock lashed out at his KIIS FM co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 44, while he explained the Gladiator star, 55, canned his chat after he was stuck in Hurricane Barry in Louisiana.
‘We just got a voicemail from him, apparently now he’s not coming on the show,’ Kyle explained.

‘Stop sounding so desperate!’ Kyle Sandilands SNAPS on-air after Russell Crowe cancelled his radio interview while he was stuck in a hurricane in the US
‘Oh but it’s not his fault! It was actually really nice of him to even leave us a message,’ Jackie countered.
‘Stop sounding so desperate! It was a normal thing to do. Ring up and say sorry – can’t make it,’ Kyle snapped at Jackie.
The mother-of-one appeared to be visibly shocked by Kyle’s outburst before she defended Russell, saying: ‘Usually they (stars) don’t leave us a message!’
‘When was the last time someone cancelled and left us a personalised message?’ Jackie said before Kyle conceded: ‘You’re right’.
Kyle went on to play Russell’s voice mail message live on-air as ‘evidence’.
Russell explained he made the decision to cancel the interview because filming for his new movie, Unhinged was ‘shut down’ due to Hurricane Barry.

‘Look, I’m shooting this movie, Unhinged at the moment in New Orleans and Louisiana. We just got shut down a little while ago for Hurricane Barry, you might of heard about that,’ Russell said.
He continued: ‘Didn’t actually end up affecting us. But the whole place went into lock down for about five days.’
Russell added the hurricane has resulted in a backlog of work commitments for him.
‘Consequently the job I’m on we’re a little bit behind on things.
‘I cancelled on them because they have really bad taste in music!’ Russell (pictured) took a savage swipe at WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda during an interview on rival breakfast show Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa last month
‘So today was suppose to be a day off for me, and that’s why I scheduled the phone call with you but I’ve actually got a rehearsal that starts now at 4 o’clock, which includes the director and a bunch of cast and stuff.
‘I’m not going to be able to call you today,’ the actor added.
The Hollywood star concluded the message by touching on his new series The Loudest Voice before ‘apologising’ to the Sydney radio duo for being a no-show.
Just last month, Russell claimed he ‘cancelled’ an on-air interview with WSFM’s Amanda Keller, 57, and Brendan Jones, 51, because they have ‘bad taste in music’.
Russell poked fun at the radio veterans moments after a fire alarm went off in his Los Angeles’ hotel room while doing a phone interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa.
‘Holy s**t! This is your competition. It’s Amanda and Jonesy trying to screw with you guys,’ Russell joked, referencing the loud siren sounding in the background.
Fighting words: Speaking on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa breakfast show, the actor claimed he ‘cancelled’ an on-air chat with Amanda Keller, 57, and Brendan Jones, 51, because they have ‘bad taste in music’
‘I cancelled on them because they have really bad taste in music. So they’re just trying to get you back,’ he added.
Russell joined Fitzy and Wippa ahead of the premiere of his new TV series, The Loudest Voice.
The seven-episode limited series premiered in Australia on Monday July 1 on Stan, with Russell playing former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes.
‘I cancelled on them because they have really bad taste in music. So they’re just trying to get you back,’ Russell said of radio rivals Jonesy and Amanda. Amanda (left) pictured with her The Living Room co-star Barry Du Bois (right)
