Lisa Rinna became emotional when helping youngest daughter Amelia move into her college apartment: ‘Oh my God, we’re going to be empty nesters!’
It is an emotional experience for any parent to send their kid off to college. But the realization that she would be an empty nester hit Lisa Rinna hard.
The 56-year-old actress talked about how she wasn’t completely prepared emotionally for 18-year-old daughter Amelia’s move-in day in New York City last week.
She told People Magazine on Tuesday: ‘We all knew it was going to happen, but you never expect it.’

She added, ‘You go, “Oh my God, we’re going to be empty nesters.” It’s going to be like going back to the way it was before we had kids in a sense. Luckily, we like each other a great deal so we’re going to be fine.’
Regardless Lisa and 67-year-old husband Harry Hamlin are sure that their youngest daughter will flourish in the Big Apple.
She said: ‘Amelia is someone who sets her mind to something and goes after it.
‘She’s very smart and I think growing up in Los Angeles has prepared her for just about anything.’

The happy couple set their oldest daughter Delilah, 21, to college last year.
Over the weekend, Lisa’s daughter officially said goodbye to Los Angeles and hello to her new life as a college student in New York City.
The reality star posted photos of Amelia moving into her new apartment in the Big Apple, and admitted she was having a hard time coping with the fact she was now an empty-nester.

In the photo, Amelia sat on her kitchen counter top, playfully holding onto a paint brush while placing a cart of Cottonelle upon her head.
‘And just like that they take flight,’ Lisa lamented in the caption, adding the hashtag, ‘College Bound.’
Lisa continued to drown her sorrows on her Instagram stories.

‘Empty nest syndrome,’ she wrote on her stories, along with a string of crying emoticons.
‘I’m gonna go find @kylerichards18 and cry with her!!!!’ she continued.
She also posted a photo of her husband Harry Hamlin, carefully putting together his daughter’s ‘very zen’ furniture.
Amelia shared photos from her move-in as well, including a snap of herself sitting in her kitchen, holding all her new supplies.

Boxes strewn all throughout the kitchen, it looked like Amelia had quite a bit of unpacking to do before officially feeling at home.
It’s not clear what school Amelia will be attending, but clearly she was over the moon about the new chapter in her life.
Still, she succumbed to homesickness later that day.
‘I miss them so much already,’ the college freshman admitted as she posted a photo of her parents embracing her.
