Lucie Donlan made it clear she wasn’t interested in pursuing a romance with Joe Garratt outside of the Love Island villa.
But Joe, 22, accidentally let slip he had shared a secret kiss with ex Lucie, 21, at the ITV Summer Party last week, teasing his hopes their relationship could get back on track.
The sandwich maker made the admission when Mark Wright prank called him during his Heart Radio show, thinking he was speaking solely to the presenter and not to the whole nation.
Secret smooch: Joe Garratt, 22, accidentally let slip he has shared a secret kiss with ex Lucie Donlan, 21, at the ITV Summer Party last week, teasing his hopes their relationship could get back on track
Mark planned to ‘stitch up’ his mate Joe, telling listeners they would be hearing the gossip straight from the horse’s mouth.
After a bit of small talk, Mark quizzed Joe about what he’d witnessed happening at the bash last week.
He said: ‘I’m walking up the stairs. I see you and Lucie at the top of the stairs having a nice deep emotional chat. So can you tell us, is it back on?’
Joe replied: ‘We are just friends but do you know what it was really nice. Just had a good catch up, we haven’t really spoken too much. Yeah it was really nice.’
Sealed with a kiss: Fans thought Lucie and Joe’s two-week romance was over, but it seems there could still be a spark
‘OK you’re obviously already media trained. So I’m going to try and ask you in a different way’, Mark joked.
‘I feel like we’re on levels, I feel like we’re friends. Has anything happened at all romantically, have you kissed Lucie since the ITV party this week?’
Joe teased: ‘We might have had a little kiss. That’s between me and you though right? Between me and you.
Mark guffawed: ‘Between me and you? You’re on Heart radio!’
‘Ahhh noo!’, Joe wailed. ‘You’re going out to the country bro!’, Mark laughed.

The presenter continued: ‘Joe. listen, you had a kiss with a girl you really like? Who cares? And you know what, there’s going to be a date isn’t there? So it’s gonna go further…’
Joe continued: ‘We’ll have to see mate. Ah you’re a nightmare man.’
On last week’s Aftersun, Lucie had ruled out rekindling things with Joe after going on a go-karting date with the floppy-haired hunk in the real world, insisting they were just ‘friends’.
The pair’s fledgling romance was cut short when Joe was sent packing after just two weeks, vowing to wait for Lucie on the outside.
She soon forgot all about him, however, and tried to make a move on Tommy Fury before pairing up with George Rains, and then professing her (unrequited) love for Tommy once again.

Go-karting date: After the pair met up on the outside (naturally filmed for Aftersun), Lucie said ‘We have stuck as friends’
Lucie told Caroline Flack: ‘It was bit weird because obviously I saw him straight away.
‘It was nice to see what he was up to. I didn’t know if he was partying with girls, it was only two weeks we were together but we had an amazing time.’
When host Caroline asked if she thinks romance will blossom once more, Lucie replied: ‘I don’t know. We have stuck as friends.
‘We don’t want to put any pressure on anything. It was so much pressure in the villa. Now we are just chilling.’
Tune in to Mark Wright on Heart every Saturday from 4pm – 7pm.
