During a chat with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn, the fellow Irish presenter asked her: ‘Are you fluttering at the minute?’

As Eamonn quipped that Maura is now ‘the second most famous person in Ireland’ after himself, Maura revealed that one of her first tasks for This Morning will be taking on a skydiving challenge.

Maura will also host her very own agony aunt call in section to give viewers advice, and take on challenges in a Maura Than Meets The Eye segment.

This Morning editor Martin Frizell claimed it was the Irish bombshell’s ‘straight-talking opinionated views’ on the show that made her the perfect choice for the job.

He told The Mirror: ‘Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views and we’re delighted she now joins a long list of successful reality stars presenting on This Morning.’

Maura will follow in the footsteps of Rylan, Vicky Pattison, Ferne McCann and Georgia Toffolo, reality stars who all landed their first TV presenting gigs on This Morning.

Maura’s new gig comes just a week after she finished in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard at the Love Island final while winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea scooped the £50,000 prize fund.

The Islanders were reunited during Sunday’s reunion show, with Maura and Curtis awkwardly being quizzed about their romance whilst sat with Curtis’ ex, Amy Hart.

Host Caroline Flack ensured there was plenty of drama during the cringe-inducing chat, bombarding the trio with tricky questions.

However, the TV star left the islanders wriggling with embarrassment when she asked Curtis – who was sandwiched between his ex and Maura – whether he would have ditched Amy.

As Amy looked on, there was a seriously long silence as the ballroom dancer carefully pondered his answer.

He then admitted that he would have in fact ended his relationship with Amy regardless, stating that their romance wasn’t ‘100% right.’

He continued: ‘It would have ended up happening anyway I think.’

During the chat, which saw Curtis hesitate about whether to sit next to Amy, Maura acknowledged the uncomfortable situation as she came face-to-face with her boyfriend’s ex.

When asked if she had anything to say to Amy, the grid girl replied: ‘I’m not gonna lie, it is awkward.’

But she went on to say that she and Amy left on good terms and hoped they could be friends, adding that ‘the past is the past.’
