Love Island’s Michael THANKS Jordan for ‘taking the heat off me’

Michael Griffiths has thanked Jordan Humes for ‘taking the heat off me’ after the model was caught red-handed talking to India Reynolds on Love Island on Tuesday.

The firefighter, 27, appeared on This Morning on Wednesday alongside James Argent and Ellie Brown, where he discussed Jordan’s shock betrayal towards his girlfriend Anna Vakili.

Speaking of Jordan, 24, becoming the villa’s new villain: ‘He’s taken the heat off me I really don’t know what’s going through his mind.

‘It’s maybe because he didn’t speak to Anna first. I would say to him you should’ve taken a step back, even sleep on it and then if you’re still feeling the same way.

Discussing the public’s perception on himself, Michael elaborated: ‘I’ve not looked at the negative stuff, I’ve not really looked back at that I don’t see the point in looking back at that. Right now I’m just grateful that I has the opportunity to do it.

‘I still want to be the calendar at the end of the year. I want to donate a lot of it to the firefighters charity.’

Former 2018 contestant Ellie chipped in: ‘We’re very aware of the negative sides of reality TV but it’s important to look at the positives too, I have had the best year of my life, you look back at a year the people that dislike you know won’t matter in a year.’

To which Arg added:  ‘I started TOWIE nine years ago, I’m fortunate enough to still be doing things now, nine years on I’m still doing things. Before I started TOWIE I always wanted to do wedding singing, I’ve just continued what I was doing before.

‘Invest your money, smash it but not everyone is going to go on and be on TV for years. Put all your effort into your stuff that you’re really passionate about, you’ve got to be prepared that the stuff you’re doing isn’t going to last forever.’

Michael also appeared on Lorraine, where he confessed he still has feelings for Joanna Chimonides.

The firefighter also blasted Jordan for ‘losing his head’ amid the ‘cheating’ drama that unfolded on Tuesday when Anna confronted Jordan while he was confessing his feelings for India Reynolds.

During his TV appearance, Michael primarily expressed a hope of reuniting with his ex Joanna as he said he was still waiting to speak to her.

He said: ‘I’ve only seen Joanna on Aftersun. I’m looking to sit down and have a conversation with her when I can.’

It seems Michael has still yet to smooth things over with Joanna after he didn’t leave the villa alongside her, despite saying she was ‘everything’ he was ‘looking for’.

The firefighter insisted he just wanted to iron out the final few details with his ex as he wanted to ‘expand’ on their discussion on Aftersun.

The end: He chose to stay on Love Island, despite his summer soulmate Joanna Chimonides being booted off but he still hasn't given up hope on rekindling their love now

Joanna had squashed claims the couple’s relationship was repairable on Monday’s This Morning. She said: ‘His initial speech was thanking everyone for keeping him but there was no mention of leaving with me. I was upset.’

With all the drama that went down between Michael, Amber and Joanna, it may raise a few eyebrows that he criticised Jordan’s behaviour in the villa when his pal became embroiled in a love triangle with his girlfriend Anna and India.

He said: ‘He came in went for Anna and that was his mission he wanted to get Anna, it seems like he’s had a bit of head loss and he’s stumbled up the first step.

‘I’d have said you need to think about what you’re doing before you act on it and if you’re unsure speak to Anna, if it’s not going to work let her know.’

The muscle-bound hunk revealed Jordan and Anton Danyluk had a secret discussion where they ruled out getting in relationships with the girls while in the villa.

Michael admitted he was surprised when Jordan enlisted the help of the islanders to ask Anna to be his girlfriend with a romantic gesture.

He said: ‘I don’t really know what’s going on in Jordan’s head. We spoke about the whole getting into a relationship during the villa and me, Jordan and Anton said it’s not really the best idea.

‘And then Jordan’s gone ahead and done it. We respected his decision, we always backed it.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Michael was happy to highlight he had patched things over with his ex Amber Gill amid ‘gaslighting’ claims. He said: ‘Me and Amber have made up, we’re really good friends, I’m happy we left on such a good note.’

The reality star proved there was no bad blood when he sent his best wishes to Amber’s new man Greg O’Shea after he was forced to leave the villa temporarily to attend his nan’s funeral.

He said: ‘I heard Greg is a lovely lad, and I read he went home for bereavement reasons, so I WANT TO send love to his family.’
