Love Island’s Tommy Fury ‘plans to QUIT boxing for a TV career with girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague… risking the wrath of his family’

Love Island star Tommy Fury is reportedly planning to quit boxing to pursue a budding career in reality TV.

A source told The Sun that the hunk risks the wrath of his family by turning his back on the sport as numerous offers flood in for him and girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.

It came after Tommy’s brother, boxing heavyweight Tyson admitted he thought his sibling would get ‘carried away’ with his TV career after finding fame as a runner-up in the Love Island villa.

A source said that Tommy’s plan to quit boxing may only be a temporary measure, as he plans to spend the next year focusing on work and branding deals.

They said: ‘Tommy knows he is in a unique position with work opportunities coming out of his ears.

‘He knows that if he makes enough capital he can invest in his future, whether it’s property or training, and re-focus on boxing later. Molly is supportive and just wants Tommy to be happy.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Tommy Fury for further comment.

Tommy’s career shift came after he and Molly-Mae finished runner-up on Love Island 2019, as they were pipped to the post by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea despite being the bookies favourite to win.

The couple were the only pair in the final to make their relationship official, and despite days of social media silence after returning from Mallorca, they seemed stronger than ever at Sunday’s Love Island reunion.

It came after Tommy’s brother Tyson – himself one of Britain’s biggest boxing stars – had admitted he wouldn’t be surprised to see Tommy tempted away from the sport.

Speaking on The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, he said: ‘He might get carried away being a TV reality star rather than a fighting man – and it’s the last thing he needs to do when he’s trying to become a professional fighter.’

‘So at first I said ”nah, it won’t be a good idea that, you’ll mess up what you’re doing in your career, you’re on a roll, keep with the boxing”.

‘Then I thought about it and you know what, it can only enhance his career by getting more people to know him.’
