Manu Feildel’s wild night out! My Kitchen Rules host ‘got on the sauce’ at a Channel Seven event and ‘balanced chairs on his chin’
His inclusion as a judge on the new season of Australia’s Got Talent has been described as ‘weird’ and ‘random’.
But My Kitchen Rules’ Manu Feildel actually has a background in performance and showmanship, according to media expert Steve Molk.
New role: Manu Feildel has been chosen to feature on a new Australia’s Got Talent judging panel that has been slammed as ‘weird’ and ‘random’ by the show’s fans
Steve explained: ‘I know about Manu’s performance background because I was at one of Seven’s Brisbane upfronts [advertising events] a few years ago.
‘Let’s just say he got on the sauce! The night ended with all of us [reporters] being asked to leave, and by that I mean we were the last people standing.
‘Manu had been balancing chairs on his chin – like getting a four-poster chair and putting one post on his chin.’
In the know: But despite the criticism My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel has a background in performance and showmanship, according to TV Blackbox’s Steve Molk Pictured L-R, Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack, Nicole Scherzinger and Manu Feildel
‘He’d actually been doing some juggling earlier in the night!’ Steve concluded.
Manu, 45, actually went to circus school for three years from the age of 13, which perhaps explains his talent for balancing chairs on his chin.
Juggling was among the skills he learned in his teenage years, in addition to acrobatics, unicycling and clowning.
Witness report: ‘I know about Manu’s performance background because I was at one of Seven’s Brisbane upfronts (advertising events) a few years ago,’ media commentator Steve Molk (pictured) said on the TV Blackbox podcast on Monday
After hearing the bizarre story, the show’s co-host Robert McKnight revealed his opinion on the TV chef had significantly changed.
‘That’s brilliant – I’ve got a new respect for him after that,’ the media executive said.
Big night: Steve claimed he saw the French chef, 45, (left with MKR co-host Pete Evans) ‘get on the sauce’ at a Channel Seven event in Brisbane, before balancing chairs on his chin
Steve added a group then went on to Brisbane’s Treasury Casino – where he claimed two contestants from that year’s show then got kicked out.
The conversation came up on TV Blackbox’s new episode as they discussed the merits of the Australia’s Got Talent new judging group.
Manu will join comedian Shane Jacobson, 49, actress Lucy Durack, 36, and former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman, Nicole Sherzinger, 40, on the panel.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Manu for comment.
