‘I honestly feel like a massive hypocrite…’: Margot Robbie speaks out about constant baby rumours after marrying Tom Ackerley in 2016

Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley tied the knot in a secret ceremony in late 2016.

And as the newly-weds continue to enjoy married life, the Australian actress, 29, has spoken out about the constant baby questions and rumours they face.

After hitting out at the ‘social contract’ women endure in January, referring to questions about starting families, she elaborated further to Stellar on Sunday.

‘I haven’t been asked [about babies] as regularly,’ she said, after first speaking out on the subject to Radio Times in January.

‘[But] I honestly feel like a massive hypocrite. I know I’ve said it to friends: “Oh, wow… when are you guys thinking of the baby thing?”‘ she explained.

‘And I catch myself and think, “Why does that come out of your mouth? Why is that your first reaction?” So, I’m not pointing any fingers. But it’s good to check yourself.’

This isn’t the first time Margot’s voiced her dislike for how women are portrayed and perceived on-screen and off.

Last Month, Margot voiced her dislike for the descriptor ‘bombshell’ in the July issue of Vogue.

She said: ‘I hate that word. I hate it—so much.’

She continued: ‘And I catch myself and think, “Why does that come out of your mouth? Why is that your first reaction?” So, I’m not pointing any fingers. But it’s good to check yourself’

In January, she told Radio Times she was angry with ‘this social contract’ and that people shouldn’t ever ‘presume’ if someone is expecting.

Margot currently splits her time between Australia and Los Angeles with husband Tom, insisting she returns to her hometown as often as she can.

In May this year, she treated her sister Anya to ride The Ghan, Australian train service between the cities of Alice Springs and Darwin and even visit to Uluru.
