On Monday Megan, who came out as bisexual before filming for the dating show, admitted that she was nervous at the prospect of dating a woman during an interview on Loose Women.

She said: ‘I was 100 per cent (nervous about dating women). How I was portrayed in my year on Love Island was that I was the sex symbol. When I left the villa, all that people ever wanted to talk about was: ”you had sex with two people on TV”.

‘I was kind of hesitant to say it because they would think it was a sexual thing, for me I just want to find someone who I can travel with, have dinners with, and enjoy life with.

‘It doesn’t matter if we are male or female, if we have that connection, that’s what important.

‘I’ve had physical relationships with girls but I’ve never been on a date with a woman before like going out for dinner.’

The reality star added: ‘With boys, I felt like I had an upper hand because of my past. I’m very confident talking to men, that was my confident zone.

‘But I went into this mixer and how could I tell if the women were straight, bi or gay? I didn’t know.

‘I think people think I’m really confident from watching Love Island but they will see a different side of me.’

During her interview, Megan also admitted that her split with the nuclear systems design engineer Wes Nelson, 21, who she dated for six months after leaving the Love Island villa, left her feeling ‘jaded’ about the dating scene.

She added: ‘It wasn’t an easy decision to go on another reality show, I was like “my heart has been broken”.

‘I was so jaded about the dating scene in general. It’s so taxing, you have to sort through all of the people who are just there for one thing and find someone who is on the same level as you and wants what you want.’

Joining Megan on this year’s Celebs Go Dating are TOWIE stars Lauren Goodger, Chloe Sims and Demi Sims, Geordie Shore’s Nathan Henry, socialite Lady Colin Campbell, singer Lee Ryan and Love Island star Jack Fincham.
