Meryl Davis and Fedor Andreev throw a second wedding celebration for family at home in Detroit

Meryl Davis and Fedor Andreev hold second wedding ceremony at home in Detroit for grandmother who wasn’t able to travel to destination wedding

They tied the knot back in June in a ceremony held in the South of France.

But just over a week ago on August 17, Meryl Davis and Fedor Andreev said their ‘I do’s’ one more time for a smaller group of family and friends in the backyard of the home that Davis grew up in.

People reports that Davis’ uncle officiated the ceremony with 11 relatives in attendance, including her grandmother, Marian, who was unable to make the overseas trip to France in June.

‘Once my grandmother decided she couldn’t make the trip all the way to Europe, we knew we’d do something special and intimate at home,’ the 32-year-old Olympic athlete told People.

‘It was lovely, and I know she and I both really appreciated getting to share that moment together,’ she added.

The entertainment news site reported that their second wedding was full of ‘family elements,’ with Davis’ parents taking care of decorations, flowers and the wedding cake.

And instead of vows, People reports Davis and Andreev, 37, read letters to each other.

Davis reportedly wore a Juliette gown by A La Robe with an organza overskirt by Dan Jones while Andreev wore a custom blue suit.

The couple have been in a relationship for nearly a decade, having first started dating nine years ago.

In a separate interview with People, Andreev, who’s the son of Davis’ former ice skating coach, expressed just how much the couple loved each other.

‘We love each other unimaginably. So I’m just really excited to make it official, since we know we want to spend the rest of our lives together.’
