She is taking on a lead role in a new crime drama TV series where a 14-year-old boy is accused of murder.

And Michelle Dockery joined co-star Chris Evans on the set of gritty new drama, Defending Jacob in Boston on Wednesday.

The Downton Abbey actress, 37, looked focused as she filmed tense scenes with on-screen son Jaeden Martell, 16, who plays the suspected teen killer Jacob Barber.

The Lady Mary Talbot actress cut a chic figure in a grey check duster coat worn over a navy blouse as she filmed the gritty scenes.

Keeping the look polished and elegant, she slipped on navy culottes and vertiginous heels.

Her raven locks were styled in loose waves while a light dusting of make-up enhanced her pretty features.

Chris’ new role will see him play the father of a 14-year-old son accused of murder in Apple’s limited forthcoming series.

Apple’s latest project will see the Captain America  star in the leading role of the gripping 2012 New York Times best selling novel by William Landay.   

The novel sees Andy Barber as an assistant district attorney who is investigating the murder of teen Ben Rifkin – a classmate of his son Jacob.

After searching Jacob’s room, he discovers a knife that fits the description of the murderer’s knife. He is left defending his son from the murder.

While it’s yet to be revealed when the series will be released, it comes as part of Apple TV+ Original Programming shows including Truth Be Told and The Morning Show – starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. 

Michelle will also be seen in the forthcoming big screen adaptation of Downton Abbey, due to be released in the UK on September 13, where she reprises her role as Lady Mary Talbot.

While Chris’ latest box office offering has already raked in more than $2billion at the worldwide box office and currently sits at #2 on the highest grossing movies of all time.
