Former MasterChef judge George Calombaris has dominated the headlines this month after landing in hot water for underpaying staff by $7.8million.

However 2019 winner Larissa Takchi appeared as happy as ever on Tuesday, despite her victory being slightly overshadowed by the chef’s legal woes and the exit of all three long-standing judges from the program.

The newly-engaged aspiring chef, 22, was positively beaming during an outing with a friend to Melbourne‘s Chin Chin as she carried bridal magazines.

Larissa, who announced her engagement to long-term beau Luke last week, appears to be stuck into wedding planning. 

The reality TV star looked effortlessly chic in a patterned jacket, black jeans and a white sweater.

She carried a stack of magazines with post-it-notes marking certain pages, as she met with her friend for lunch. 

Larissa wore her brunette locks down, with a pair of sunglasses atop her head.

Speaking to TV Week magazine, the brunette explained that her boyfriend-of-six-years popped the question just one week after she took out the top spot on MasterChef a few months ago.

Also speaking of her engagement to 10 Daily on Tuesday, Larissa admitted that her time spent competing on MasterChef really tested her relationship.

‘I think that experience can either make or break a relationship – for us, it made it,’ she told the publication .

Larissa became the youngest winner ever in the show’s 10-year history after getting three perfect scores from the judges for her unusual take on pavlova. 

She took home a top-of-the-range Holden Equinox, a monthly column in Australia’s leading food magazine, Delicious, and a quarter of a million dollars.

Hours before the finale aired, Channel 10 announced that Calombaris and co-stars Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan would be replaced by new judges in 2020.

The news came amid Calombaris’ and his company being slapped with a $200,000 fine by the Fair Work Ombudsman after ruling workers in his restaurants were underpaid almost $8 million in wages.
